As an increasing number of professional items are discussed and negotiated locally, the Local Association has an elected negotiating sub-committee of representatives on the Local Negotiating Committee for Teachers (LNCT).

These representatives are officially delegated by the Aberdeen City Teachers’ Panel, which represents the views of all Aberdeen teachers.

In order to be fully representative of the wider membership across Aberdeen City, it is very important that the views of teachers in schools are heard. Throughout the school year there are regular Local Association meetings open for all EIS members, not exclusively for School Reps. Agendas and Minutes for meetings are sent to school reps for distribution to members.

To encourage participation at a local level, Local Association meetings have been arranged for different week days and will take place in the Patio Hotel, Beach Boulevard, which provides ample free parking and disability access.
